Michael Tenenbaum, Co-Chair

Phyllis deserves this honor because she has lived and breathed Alpha Omega for over 65 years. She began involvement with AO when her husband, Sam, joined the Washington, DC, chapter. She immediately joined the Ladies Auxiliary. She served on many committees and held all of the offices, including the presidency, over many years. She then assumed the job of Tribute chairman, which she continued to do until just this past year (over 45 years).

Phyllis was always at international conventions drumming up support for the charitable arm of our great organization and supporting every Foundation fundraising event.

Nomination from Past International President Steve Kahan

It is my honor and privilege to put forth the name of Phyllis Blum of Washington, D.C., For honorary membership in Alpha Omega. Phyllis deserves this honor because she has lived and breathed Alpha Omega for over 65 years. She began involvement with AO when her husband, Sam, joined the Washington, DC, chapter. She immediately joined the Ladies Auxiliary and became more than just a dues-paying member. She served on many committees and held all of the offices, including the presidency, over many years. She then assumed the job of Tribute chairman, which she continued to do until just this past year (over 45 years). She sent out all the Tribute cards, billed the members for their payments, and followed up to ensure full payment. Phyllis' activity with Tribute cards led her to become an integral part of the AO Foundation. In my over 40 years of attending the AO conventions, Phyllis was always at the Foundation registration desk, supporting our great organization's charitable arm and attending every fundraising event.

She also helped plan many of those events. Phyllis Blum is more than deserving of Honorary Membership in Alpha Omega. She has been a constant source of support, and her inclusion would only bring honor to
Alpha Omega.

I appreciate your consideration.

Steve Kahan, PIP
