Holocaust Survivors Oral Health Program Marks 10 Years of Impact
The Alpha Omega–Henry Schein Cares Holocaust Survivors Oral Health Program is celebrating a decade of growth, progress, and meaningful impact.
What began as a pilot program has grown into an enduring public-private partnership dedicated to ensuring that Holocaust survivors in need receive essential oral healthcare with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Over the past decade, the program has provided dental treatment to nearly 2,500 Holocaust survivors, with the value of donated oral healthcare exceeding $5.3 million.
Today, the program is supported by a network of 288 dental providers, six participating universities, three dental laboratory partners, 25 social-service agencies, and active programs in 10 cities across the United States and Canada.
Alpha Omega members and the program’s partners provide comprehensive care, including preventive, restorative, periodontal, endodontic, oral surgery, and prosthodontic treatment. The program has also helped establish an ongoing “dental home” for many survivors, allowing them to return for continuing care in a welcoming and compassionate environment.
The new 10-year report, A Decade of Growth, Progress & Results, recognizes the dentists, dental laboratories, universities, social-service agencies, philanthropic supporters, and industry partners whose commitment has made this work possible.
