Dear friends and supporters of the Alpha Omega US Foundation,

There is an old Jewish saying. Man plans, and God laughs. If the last few years have taught us anything, the world has its way of giving us the most turmoil and trauma that we can still handle. The philanthropic world during the pandemic and the world’s divisiveness is no different.

Although we cannot meet in-person to discuss issues that affect our global oral health community (which is always preferable) our Foundation has identified a compelling project for this year. It is the Alpha Omega US Foundation Scholarship to Dental Students in need at Tel Aviv University.

Because of the pandemic and the shutdowns in Israel, many students will not finish their studies to allow them to enter the dental workforce. It affects the individual students, their families who have sacrificed so much, and their more significant local communities who will so need these services. We have experienced firsthand in the United States a crisis in lack of qualified health care providers that will continue well after the Covid crisis has been managed. It is no different in Israel.

As you can see in the accompanying brochure, these gifts' impact is far-reaching and urgent. The students are vetted each year for need, and this program seems like an effective way to change lives positively within our mission. The board and our Foundation's philanthropic funds have made significant gifts to kickstart the campaign. Please consider helping us reach as many students of need as we can. We hope to expand this shortly to include Hebrew University as well. Our relationship with these schools goes back to their inception and early growth and has been a cornerstone ever since.
