Overview:

Full-arch restorations have always presented significant clinical and technical challenges, from patient management in the clinic, to laboratory procedures, and to the essential need for seamless communication among team members.

The progressive shift toward digitally driven technologies in reconstructive dentistry is undeniable. As technology has rapidly advanced, so too have the ways we diagnose, treatment plan, and restore the full-arch patient.

Over the past decade, the development of innovative digital technologies has evolved in parallel with major advancements in restorative materials. Together, these innovations have opened new horizons in prosthodontics.

What has not changed, however, are the fundamental principles of sound prosthodontics.

While digital technologies aim to enhance the quality and precision of examination, diagnosis, and treatment, it remains debatable whether these tools consistently deliver superior accuracy in data acquisition and clinical assessment compared to conventional methods.

This lecture will address the limitations, and occasional failures, associated with full-arch monolithic zirconia restorations. It will present practical, out-of-the-box prosthetic solutions and novel clinical protocols designed to prevent and manage these complications.

Drawing from the author’s clinical experience and the most current scientific literature, this presentation will highlight contemporary clinical challenges, emerging materials, and refined protocols necessary to achieve predictable, successful outcomes in full-arch implant rehabilitation.
